Prior Learning Credit

Students seeking credit for prior learning must be formally admitted (matriculated) into a degree program and also must meet the minimum program residency requirement in order to be awarded a degree at YCCC.

Credit Limitations
Students may earn up to 75% of the total credits required for graduation through a combination of all forms of prior learning (transfer and articulated credits, portfolio, CLEP credit, AP credit, ACE credit, etc.) Credits earned for learning that occurred prior to admittance will not count toward the academic residency requirement. Once received, you may be asked to obtain a copy of the college catalog or official course description in order to assist in the credit determination. Courses transferred from other institutions will not be used in computing the student’s YCCC grade point average (GPA).

Credit by Portfolio
